The Planning Commission makes recommendations to Council on rezoning applications, Planned Development Zoning District applications, and updates and amendments to the Charleston County Comprehensive Plan and Zoning and Land Development Regulations Ordinance. The Planning Commission has final decision-making authority on such matters as appeals of subdivision-related administrative decisions, names of new streets, and requests for street name changes.
